I am Reetta Knuuttila, a certified psychologist (M.Sc in Psychology). In my studies I have specialized in sport psychology through internships as well as in my Bachelor's and Master's Thesis topics.
As a coach I work using an established structure but still allowing for dynamic changes according to client needs. I teach tools for athletes to commonplace challenges, such as competition anxiety and handling setbacks. I believe that self-knowledge and relaxed attention are a good base for each athlete to lead oneself and succeed in their goals. In coaching we focus on these skills among other psychological skills, which together make up an individual "tool box" for an athlete to draw from.
As an athlete myself I compete in Brazilian jiu-jitsu internationally, from which I so far have 3 European Open medals and multiple Finnish Nationals and Finnish Open medals.
Mental coaching combines two of my passions, helping others in their goals & the challenges of competitive sports. I have first hand experience on what it means to compete on an international level, and I understand the wholehearted passion it takes to compete and succeed in a sport.
